Interviewing - Storyline 360

Description: This eLearning course is designed to provide HR interviewers and hiring managers skills to interview potential employees. The training is targeted towards recruiters with varying levels of technical expertise and an average age of 35.

Solution:  This training provides skills necessary to evaluate candidates effectively, avoid biases, and contribute to achieving the company's talent acquisition goals of hiring 2,000 employees for their technical team in one calendar year.

Process: This demo eLearning module was developed using both the ADDIE and SAM models. The project began with a needs analysis, which informed the creation of a design document outlining course objectives, content, and outcomes. An initial brainstorming session organized learning objectives and behavioral outcomes using sticky notes, with input from the designer and SMEs. From there, I built the course in multiple stages—alpha, beta, and gold versions—incorporating feedback at each step. The design phase also highlighted interactive elements within storyline blocks.

Evaluation was planned from the start, using Levels 2 and 3 of Kirkpatrick’s model. Level 2 included four ungraded knowledge checks throughout the course and five scenario-based quiz questions at the end. Level 3 involved periodic observations with a checklist or rubric, along with tracking course completion rates. Once development was complete, the course would be uploaded to the company LMS, ensuring SCORM compliance. See my design document for more details.

Process: This demo eLearning module was developed using both the ADDIE and SAM models. The project began with a needs analysis, followed by a brainstorming session where the designer and SMEs organized learning objectives and behavioral outcomes using sticky notes. Together, they established the course objectives, content, and desired outcomes, which were captured in a detailed design document. The design phase also outlined engaging interactions within storyline blocks. The course was built in iterative stages—alpha, beta, and gold—incorporating feedback after each version.

Upon completion, the module would be uploaded to the company LMS, ensuring SCORM compliance. Evaluation was integrated from the start, leveraging Levels 2 and 3 of Kirkpatrick’s model. Level 2 included four ungraded knowledge checks and five scenario-based quiz questions to assess knowledge retention and staff engagement. Level 3 involved periodic observations using checklists or rubrics to track behavioral changes, as well as survey results and social media posts to measure long-term outcomes. Course completion rates would also be monitored to ensure continued success. See my design document for further details.
